Antenatal Care

At 3fivetwo,our aim is to enable expectant mothers to have a positive and reassuring pregnancy and birthing experience. We are committed to promoting an environment of medical excellence, informed choice and superior care throughout your pregnancy and childbirth.

Our complete antenatal care package includes:

• Antenatal consults from 8-10 weeks
• Extensive 3D Ultrasound service including foetal cardiac scan
• 4D Ultrasound service
• Medically required or preferred delivery option
• Post natal and Paediatric assessment
• Lifestyle advice & Midwifery support
• Referral for Parentcraft classes

We also provide a range of standalone antenatal ultrasound scans (including 4D ultrasound), in addition to Amnioscentesis, blood tests, Parentcraft classes and post natal paediatric consults. These may be selected according to your individual needs or medical requirements.

• Dr Ayman Morsy

Dr Ayman Morsy

Dr Ayman Morsy graduated in 1990 from Alexandria University of Egypt. He is a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (2002) and was appointed Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in Craigavon Area Hospital in 2008.

 

In Obstetrics he acquired the Diploma of advanced obstetric ultrasound, advanced training in foetal medicine and advanced labour ward practice.

 

In Gynaecology he finished his advanced laparoscopy, oncology and colposcopy training and gained extensive experience in general gynaecology, prolapse and incontinence surgery.

 

He has a vast amount of experience both here in Northern Ireland and overseas. He has over 10 years experience working in University Hospitals in Egypt and over 12 years working in all the major units in Northern Ireland.

 

His private services include:

Antenatal Care: This is an extensive Consultant led package which includes Nuchal screening, prenatal screening and amniocentesis, Foetal Cardiac Scanning by a Consultant Cardiologist, 4D Ultrasound Scanning, regular antenatal assessments and post-natal Consultant Paediatric Assessment of the new born.  Dr Morsy facilitates all his private deliveries at Craigavon Area Hospital Maternity Unit and the Midwifery led unit.

 

Gynaecology: Minimal Access Surgery for Heavy Periods, Pelvic Pain, Ovarian Cysts and Endometriosis, Laparoscopic ("Key-Hole") Hysterectomy,  laparoscopic  Sterilization, Specialist Management of Prolapse & Incontinence, General Gynaecology, Pelvic Screening.

• Dr Priscilla Devaseelan

Dr Priscilla Devaseelan



Dr Priscilla Devaseelan works as a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist at the Belfast Trust.

 

She underwent specialist training in Northern Ireland and gained membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists (RCOG) in 2005 obtaining the highest mark. She also acquired the Advanced Obstetric Ultrasound Diploma from the RCOG in 2009. She has a special interest in Fetal Medicine and Labour ward management.

 

Dr Devaseelan's private services at 3fivetwo include:


Comprehensive Private Antenatal Care which includes nuchal scanning, fetal cardiac scanning, 4D scanning, regular antenatal checks and assessment of the baby by a Consultant Paediatrician. Dr Devaseelan can deliver in both the Royal and Mater hospitals. Please note that delivery in the Mater Hospital will be for low risk patients only.




Gynaecological Services include treatment for heavy periods, ovarian cysts, endometriosis, prolapse & incontinence, general gynaecological and pelvic screening.


• Dr Samina Dornan

Samina Dornan, a consultant in Obstetrics and Maternal Fetal-Medicine in the Royal Jubilee Maternity Hospital Belfast, has a special interest in prenatal diagnosis, medical disorders of pregnancy, multiple pregnancy, fetal assessment and intrauterine/endoscopic fetal surgery.



Samina received her early training in Cork and Limerick University Hospitals before moving on to RJMH and then St. George’s Hospital. She became a member of the Royal Collage of Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in 2001, followed by completion of her research MD from Queen’s University Belfast.

 

She completed her general and sub-specialist training under the supervision of Dr Bailey in Belfast and Prof Basky in St. George’s Hospital London. She was awarded dual accreditation in O&G and MFM from RCOG in Dec 2007 and took up a consultant post the following year in SGH London.




In St. George’s she was a lead consultant for multiple births, teenage pregnancy, and medical disorders in pregnancy and was screening coordinator for all antenatal screening. Samina left London to join her husband professor Jim Dornan, with whom she now works in both the NHS and 3fivetwo/Kingsbridge Private Health Care.

 


Samina has published widely, especially on multiple pregnancy and intra-uterine fetal growth restriction, topics very close to her heart. She is a guest editor for British Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and is regularly asked to speak at the local, national and international conferences.



Samina's antenatal package offers the highest standards in routine antenatal and specialist antenatal care including prenatal diagnosis( Nuchal Translucency, CVS, Amniocentesis) regular 2D & 3D ultrasound fetal assessments. Also included in the package are a free consultation/ fetal cardiac scan with fetal cardiologist Dr Frank Casey and a paediatric consultation with a consultant at the postnatal visit.

 


A six weeks post-natal consultation incorporates a general check up, Pelvic ultrasound scan/cervical smear, if required, and planning of future pregnancy and contraception.

• Dr Carolyn Bailie

Royal Jubilee Maternity Service

Dr Carolyn Bailie graduated from Queen’s University, Belfast. Having completed her initial postgraduate years at the Royal Victoria Hospital she then undertook training in General Practice, obtaining her MRCGP. She subsequently commenced training in Obstetrics & Gynaecology including an additional three years specialising in Maternal & Fetal Medicine, one year of this being at the University of Texas doing research.

 

Dr Bailie was appointed as a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist and Subspecialist in Maternal & Fetal Medicine to the Royal Jubilee Maternity Hospital in 2002. In 2005 she ceased to practise Gynaecology in order to focus entirely  on fetal medicine, high risk antenatal care and obstetrics. She has managed numerous Regional referrals during this time.

She welcomes referrals for early pregnancy scans, first trimester screening ( nuchal translucency scan and 1^st trimester bloods, with full counselling following results), anomaly scans, amniocentesis  and  other pregnancy scans up to 24 weeks gestation. She also accepts referrals for prepregnancy counselling, particularly with regards to problems in a previous pregnancy.

 

She retains accreditation for the first trimester screening programme with the Fetal Medicine Foundation, London.

 

As well as many other roles Carolyn has been the Irish Members Representative on the Council of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists  since 2006. Her tenure comes to a close in July 2012.

 

Dr Bailie does not currently accept referrals for private antenatal care.

Dr Alyson Hunter graduated from Queens University Belfast before training in general Obstetrics & Gynaecology in N.I. and England.

Research in Pre-eclampsia led to opportunities to continue research and sub specialise in maternal and fetal medicine in England. 

Dr Alyson Hunter was appointed Consultant in Obstetrics and Maternal Fetal Medicine in the Royal Maternity Hospital Belfast in 2005.

• Dr Stephen Ong

Dr Stephen Ong



Dr Stephen Ong graduated from University College Dublin. He trained in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in major teaching hospitals in Ireland, Scotland and England. He further specialised in Maternal and Fetal medicine at Birmingham Women’s Hospital, a unit which receives referrals from across the U.K.

 

 

At the Royal Jubilee Maternity Hospital in Belfast, he works as a consultant in obstetrics and maternal & fetal medicine. As such, he specialises in dealing with complex problems affecting both the mother and her unborn baby. He accepts referrals from other obstetricians throughout Northern Ireland.  He frequently accepts women from other hospitals to be delivered under his care in Belfast.

 

In addition to his busy clinical role, Dr Ong has been appointed to an important managerial role serving as the Clinical Lead in Obstetrics. He has over-arching responsibility for the antenatal clinic, the fetal medicine unit and labour ward.

 

Dr Ong has a strong background in clinical research. He has spoken widely at national and international meetings and has numerous publications in major scientific journals. He is the founder and chairperson of a charitable organisation called the Puffin Trust, which is dedicated to the task of funding research into problems in pregnancy.

 

Although Dr Ong specialises in dealing with pregnancies with complex problems, he also takes care of many women with normal pregnancies.

• Dr David Glenn

Dr David Glenn

Dr Glenn offers private Obstetric & Gynaecology services from our consulting rooms at 352 Lisburn road. These include a full private anetenatal package.



Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist in the Ulster Hospital, Belfast.

(Lead Clinician for Gynae-Oncology in the South Eastern HSC Trust).

 Dr Glenn received his medical training at QUB, Belfast, qualifying in 1993.  He gained the Diploma from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 1996, the Diploma in Family Planning in 1997 and became a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 1999.  He is a UK trainer in pelvic floor surgery and sits on the Executive Board of the Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics Organization.

Having worked extensively throughout the six major teaching hospitals in N Ireland, including an elective year in a general surgical rotation, Dr Glenn further developed his medical expertise as a research fellow in the Department of Medicine (QUB).  His research in the area of infertility received both local and national acclaim and won him The Blair Bell prize.

His special interests in Obstetrics include Operative Obstetrics and Emergency Obstetric Care and in Gynaecology include Minimal Access Surgery, Prolapse Surgery, Infertility and Gynae-Oncology.
