Speech and Language Therapy

At 3fivetwo, our team of Speech and Language therapists(SLTs) offer assessment and therapy with an emphasis on providing high quality, highly individualised speech and language therapy to suit both children and adults.

Our team of SLTs respond to the needs of individuals who experience speech, language or swallowing problems. The SLTs are experts in the management of communication and swallowing disorders. These services cover all ages and are planned and developed with reference to current evidence based practice and research findings.

Who do we work with?

Children with speech, language or communication problems associated with:

• Developmental delays
• Late talkers
• Diagnosed impairments - genetic or medical

Adults with acquired communication or swallowing problems associated with

• Medical conditions such as stroke
• Progressive neurological disorders (MS, Parkinson's disease) or
• Brain injury

Mrs Carolee Mclaughlin

Carolee McLaughlin graduated from UUJ in 1992 with a BSc HONS in Speech and Language therapy (SLT) and completed her MSc in advanced practice in SLT in 2003.

Carolee is specialist in both communication and swallowing difficulties following stroke and has been  a key speaker at national and international conferences. She is the external examiner for an international dysphagia course and is a lecturer at post graduate level in UUJ.

She has worked in BCH for the past fouteen years and has been the specialist SLT in stroke throughout this time.

In 2002 Carolee was awarded the Innovation in Stroke project of the year, for the implementation of FEES service in Northern Ireland.  Carolee is a regional FEES trainer and co author of the RCSLT FEES policy and guidelines.
